In a deeply moving visit to the palace of His Royal Highness the Shehu of Borno on 29th May 2026, Ibrahim Abba Gana and members of the Abba G Support Group humbly sought the royal blessings and du'a of the revered monarch. The delegation raised their hands in prayer, asking Allah to grant their intention to contest the 2027 gubernatorial election and to restore the dignity of Borno State. The Shehu of Borno, a symbol of unity and spiritual authority for the people of Borno, received the delegation warmly and offered his prayers for peace, prosperity, and good governance for the state.

The Abba G Support Group is working hard to establish a fully operational administrative office to manage the growing activities of the candidate across all 27 LGAs of Borno State. The office will serve as the nerve centre for agent coordination, policy communications, and grassroots mobilisation.
In a historic declaration ceremony held at the Lake Chad Hotel, Maiduguri on 26th May 2026, Ibrahim Abba Gana formally announced his candidacy for Governor of Borno State under the PDP banner, unveiling the 7-pillar RESTORE agenda.
Communicated via the Brighter Borno Facebook page on 5th June 2026, the campaign unveiled a comprehensive policy blueprint covering resettlement, education, security, trade, opportunity, rural development, and empowerment — a plan built for every ward in Borno State.
Ibrahim Abba Gana hosted a strategic meeting at his residence in Maiduguri with local government chairmen from Southern Borno. The gathering focused on plans to win the 2027 gubernatorial election, with discussions covering grassroots mobilisation, ward-level organisation, and the priorities of communities across the southern senatorial zone.
